Protrack is the software at the heart of the Micronclean operation. It provides detailed
information on garments processed as well as production control functions. Protrack
provides the information and control required to support our customers that need
security and traceability in service.
Protrack is written and implemented using the latest Microsoft database and application
technology for access and speed.
Here are a few of the services provided by Protrack.
Garment Rental
Protrack tracks garments in and out of the laundry, using either bar code or
transponder technology.
Scanning in and out, size exchanges, automated garment issue and labelling, repair
control, locker management, replacements, withdraws, garment flagging with operator
notifications, rewash monitoring, under and over usage monitoring are all handled
by the Protrack system.
Reports and enquiries allow information to be retrieved for any garment or any
wearer. Options allow customer service to search through the database quickly
and efficiently, in order to retrieve information at Contract, Wearer, or Garment
level.
Data is held against every single garment. This includes the issue date, the
number and dates of processes and repairs it has had. Also a garment's residual
value is also tracked enabling accurate charging for premature replacements or
if a garment is approaching the end of its useful life. Depending on the contract
type charges are raised based on the information held in the Protrack database
thus providing accuracy and corroborative billing.
Garment History
Protrack's Garment History is used by customers, where garment scanning details
must be kept on file for lengthy periods of time.
Protrack records the last date and time that each garment was scanned into the
Laundry, together with the data and time of scanning out, ready for delivery back
to the customer; but with the increasing demands from customers with high-risk
areas, it is essential to store a full record of processes, together with the
garment wash lot number and identification of the scanning point.
The Garment History database is updated each time a garment is scanned in or
out of the Laundry. An entry is written to show the garment number, the Date and
Time at which it was scanned in, together with the scanning point and the wash
lot identifier. Later, at the point of scanning the garment out of the plant the
record is updated to show the date of scanning out, together with the scanning
location from which it was scanned.
When required, it is possible to inform customers of the dates, times and wash
lot numbers of any wearer in the database. This is information which is becoming
essential due to the requirements of quality audits and standards.
Garment Flagging
Individual garments can have software flags pinned to them. This can be done
at garment, department or customer level. As a garment is scanned Protrack checks
to see if there are any flags and displays them to the operator. A flag can be
triggered based on the age or the process count of the garment. In this way flags
can be used to automatically trigger replacement of garments that are approaching
the end of their useful life or pull garments for specific quality control and
testing.
Lot Control System
Protrack segregates garments based on the customer and collection date into production
lots. This enables garments collected on a certain day to be tracked and scheduled
for the correct return date to the customer. The lot system also provides a link
to production batch data e.g. wash temperatures. Any number of lots can be opened
at any time. As garments are scanned-in
Protrack automatically assigns that garment to the correct customer Lot based
on the turnaround time of the garment. The progress of garments in a specific
lot through the production process can be tracked at all times by production personnel.
